Operator and Acceptance
These Terms govern use of The Space Place website and related booking pages. By accessing this site, you agree to these Terms and to use the site only for lawful travel planning and reservation activity.
Booking and Payments
Reservations may be processed through direct checkout, Hospitable, Stripe, Airbnb, VRBO, or another booking provider shown on this site. Final rates, taxes, fees, payment terms, cancellation policy, and house rules shown at checkout control each reservation. In the event of a conflict, reservation terms shown during booking control that stay. Availability and quote results shown before checkout are informational and may change until a reservation is created and confirmed by the booking provider.
For direct bookings, you must provide accurate guest details, complete secure payment, and accept these Terms, the cancellation policy, checkout procedures, house rules, and the safety and injury waiver before checkout can continue. We keep an audit record of the transaction and the version of the terms accepted for reservation support, chargeback response, and dispute records.
Identity, Address, and Audit Records
Direct bookings require identity verification before payment or confirmation. We use Stripe Identity where available so Stripe can collect and verify a government-issued photo ID and a matching selfie/photo in its verification flow. Do not email, text, or otherwise send ID photos directly to the host unless we specifically provide a secure alternative.
You agree to provide a current legal or service address when requested. We may receive or use address information from Stripe, Hospitable, booking platforms, or direct guest communication. We use this information for reservation security, required records, chargeback and dispute response, damage recovery, and lawful claims, including small-claims service if needed.
Security Controls and Abuse Prevention
To protect guests and booking systems, we may apply rate limits, request verification checks (including anti-bot verification providers), and require security tokens during checkout flows. Requests that fail security validation or appear abusive may be blocked, denied, or retried later.
Price Alerts and Email Messages
If you opt in to price alerts, you authorize us to send email notifications about selected stay dates and prices, including links to manage or unsubscribe alerts. You are responsible for providing a valid email address. Delivery timing and availability of alert emails are not guaranteed, and quoted prices may change before booking is completed.
Eligibility and Guest Responsibilities
- You must be at least 18 years old to submit a reservation request.
- Provide accurate information when submitting booking details.
- Follow all house rules and checkout instructions for confirmed stays.
- Supervise children and other guests at all times while on the property.
- Keep the property, furnishings, appliances, games, linens, and outdoor areas in good condition.
- Do not use the site in a way that disrupts service, security, or other users.
Safety, Injury Waiver, and Assumption of Risk
Guests are responsible for their own safety and for the safety and supervision of every person they invite or allow on the property, including children, pets, and day visitors. The reservation holder accepts this responsibility on behalf of all members of the booking group and must make sure guests follow posted rules, ordinary safety precautions, and any host instructions.
The property may include stairs, elevated sleeping areas, bunk beds, themed rooms, toys, games, play structures, outdoor areas, cooking equipment, and fire features. These areas and amenities are provided for optional guest use at the guest's own risk. Bunk beds, play structures, and similar features require active adult supervision and should be used only by guests who can use them safely and appropriately.
To the extent permitted by law, guests voluntarily assume the risk of injury, illness, death, property loss, or property damage that occurs on or around the property during the stay, including risks connected to use or misuse of amenities. Guests release and waive claims against The Space Place, the host, owner, property manager, and their service providers for injuries or losses arising from the stay, except where such a waiver is not enforceable under applicable law.
Damage, Cleaning, and Checkout
Guests are responsible for damage they, their invitees, children, pets, or other members of their group cause during the stay. For damages above $50, guests agree to pay the documented replacement cost or repair cost, including reasonable contractor labor, materials, service-call fees, and other actual costs required to restore the property or item to its pre-booking condition.
Guests who leave the property with extensive garbage, stains, smoke or odor remediation needs, misuse of linens or furnishings, pet mess, or other damage beyond ordinary cleaning are responsible for a $400 emergency cleaning fee plus the actual costs to restore the property to the condition it was in before their booking.
Guests must complete posted and communicated checkout procedures before departure, including reasonable trash, dishes, thermostat, door-locking, pet, and safety steps. Failure to complete checkout procedures may be considered when assessing extra cleaning, damage, late checkout, or other documented recovery costs.
Prohibited Use
- No scraping, reverse engineering, or unauthorized automated access.
- No attempts to bypass security controls or interfere with checkout systems.
- No fraudulent booking activity or impersonation.
